SM Art Center – The Birth of an Exceptional Cultural Landmark in Siem Reap
An unprecedented project in Cambodia, the SM Art Center positions itself as a unique space for both contemporary and heritage art, bringing together the works of Svay Sareth and Yim Maline, along with a curated selection of creations blending Khmer heritage with modern visions. Conceived as a major cultural destination, the center encompasses an art showroom, an immersive café, and a landscaped garden for events.
From the very inception of the project, Boramy BAN was entrusted with designing the complete visual and communication identity. His role was central in building the public image of the center – from defining its graphic DNA to deploying it across all platforms. This work established the visual, conceptual, and strategic foundations that today define the SM Art Center’s universe.
His work included:
• Visual identity creation: designing the logo and graphic universe, harmonizing contemporary minimalism with refined Khmer aesthetic references.
• Printed and digital media: creating exhibition posters, catalogues, invitations, indoor and outdoor signage, and POS materials.
• Multi-platform deployment: developing content for the website, social media, and institutional presentations.
• Art direction and concepts: producing immersive visuals, moodboards, and illustrations, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
This work positioned the SM Art Center as a cultural and artistic reference in Cambodia, combining aesthetic excellence, visual coherence, and international ambition.
